Since graduating in 1967, Sir Eion Edgar KNZM has been a proud alumnus, valued friend and unwavering supporter of Otago. A visionary businessman and philanthropist, we pay tribute to Sir Eion, who died earlier this week.

Two exceptional young graduates' stories so far
Tom Devine and Georgia Bellett are heading to the USA on prestigious scholarships. Tom has received the William Georgetti Scholarship and is going to Columbia University and Georgia has been awarded the NZ Law Foundation Ethel Benjamin Scholarship and will attend University of California at Berkeley. Supporting Otago
Seeing a need for today’s geology students to develop their hands-on field skills, Otago Geology alumnus Clynt Nauman and his wife and fellow geologist Jan decided to put their support behind re-establishing and enhancing two field trips run by Otago’s Department of Geology, Te Tari Tātai Arowhenua.

On the spur of the moment Eryn Duffy entered a radio competition for $2,000, saying if she won, she'd love to give the money to ExPinkt™, a breast cancer gym run through the University of Otago’s School of Physical Education, Sport and Exercise Sciences (SPESES).
