It is with sadness we acknowledge the passing of Emeritus Distinguished Professor Richie Poulton. A respected and admired colleague and friend to many, Professor Poulton became Director of the world-renowned Dunedin Study in 2000.

Professor Jemma Geoghegan appointed Webster Family Chair

Professor Geoghegan is the third holder of the Chair in Viral Pathogenesis, which was established in 2004 and endowed by Robert and Marjorie Webster. An Otago alumnus, Professor Robert Webster is an international expert in influenza.

Otago researchers have been awarded more than $32 million in the latest MBIE Endeavour Fund, and Te Whai Ao – Dodd-Walls Centre will receive up to $12 million over five years to develop The Quantum Technologies Research Programme. Findings from the Southern Cemeteries Archaeological Project are challenging some long-held beliefs about life on the goldfields.
