2024 New Plymouth Alumni Function

 

Deputy Vice-Chancellor External Engagement, Professor Tony Ballantyne, and the Development and Alumni Relations Office, is pleased to invite you and a guest to a New Plymouth alumni event.

We are delighted to announce Professor Robert Patman as the guest speaker at this event, and we invite you to attend and hear from him.

Professor Patman’s talk is titled: Why the Veto Power of the UN Security Council Destabilises Global Security in the 21st Century

Professor Robert Patman is one of the University of Otago’s Inaugural Sesquicentennial Distinguished Chairs and a specialist in international relations. He is the Director of the Master of International Studies (MIntSt) programme. He has authored or edited 14 books with most recent being a co-edited volume titled New Zealand’s Foreign Policy under the Jacinda Ardern Government: Facing the Challenge of a Disrupted World (World Scientific Publishing, March 2024). Robert is also an Honorary Professor of the New Zealand Defence Command and Staff College and makes regular contributions to the national and global media on international issues.
